INTRODUCTION TO WEIGHTLIFTING

This class is geared toward our newer members and those who have limited experience with barbell movements. We focus on two specific goals in this exclusive program:

Level I – Positional Strength

A disciplined focus to help members acquire basic positional strength through the squat, press, and deadlift movements.

Movements practiced under this focus are as follows:

  • Front Squat
  • Overhead Squat
  • Strict Press
  • Push Press
  • Push Jerk
  • Deadlift

Level I – Olympic-Style Lifts
Once athletes build a foundation of the Positional Strength fundamentals, they will begin to incorporate essential skill movements of the two commonly used Olympic- Style lifts:

  • The Snatch
  • The Clean & Jerk

Our Introduction to Weightlifting classes are capped at 10 athletes per class and will be individualized to each member’s needs.
