Cindy or Mary

June 24, 2010
By

For today’s workout you get to choose between doing Mary or Cindy.  We have been practicing handstand push ups all week to prepare you for Mary, however if you just got your kipping pull up Cindy would also be a great challenge.  Regardless if you choose Mary or Cindy, you will be working for 20 minutes.  You will be attempting to complete as many rounds as possible in the 20 minute time period.  Set a goal for yourself and then set a pace that will allow you to maintain it.  Let’s achieve some PRs today!

Cindy: 5 pull ups

10 push ups

15 squats

Mary: 5 handstand push ups

10 pistols

15 pull ups

Since I did this Monday, I’ll leave my score here from then:

    Cindy:
    11 Rounds, +3 Pull-Ups!
    Prescribed!!

In my first week @CFF, I did 3 rounds in ten minutes, green and purple assist bands, knee push-ups. It’s great to have come so far, and I’m excited to see how well everyone else will do, too!!

gave Mary another shot and improved my score by 1 round. i did not stick to my goal last time post-Mary to practice and get better at pistols so that really hurt me (again).

    Mary: 8 rounds + 5 HSPU + 5 pistols Rx

    Mary: 4 rounds + 5 HSPU + 10 pistols + 7 pull ups.

HSPU were with half an abmat (1 ab mat, with 5 kg plates for my hands). This morning I got my first ever full-depth right-leg pistols (hurray).

8 rounds + 2 HSPU of Mary, as Rx

The pull-ups were by far the limiting factor in this workout for me. My hands are a mess. By round 2, I was torn open. By round 6, I was literally slipping off the bar because of my own blood. (Thanks JT for cleaning the bar afterwards)

I am not allowed to do any pull-ups next week. This past week I was supposed to let my hands heal up. That didn’t work out so well. I’ll substitute or do whatever I need to do, but no more pull-ups for me for a while.

I believe that qualifies for the morning’s Bad Ass Award. Heal up those hands!

im with you, my hands are junk, badass result though

    9 rounds + 5 pull ups + 5 pushups of Cindy.. Rx!

I honestly never thought I’d never see this day, but its true… a WOD with NO BANDS!!

And I’m with Nathan… too many bloody hands this morning. No pull ups for me next week either.

      Congrats!!!

I’m so angry at my shoulder. I could do Cindy Rx if it wasn’t for my stupid shoulder :(

    Cindy: 11+
Proud that there is less scaling/pain and more speed, but can’t wait to do this Rx. Three cheers, Hales!!

    Cindy: 10 rounds + 5 pull ups + 8 push ups

Should have just done this Rx; I didn’t realize that the red band is kind of pointless when one is doing 5 p/u’s at a time :-)

Did my 29 burpees for the day after the WOD. Nice work everyone!

That’s actually how I got my first unassisted pull-up…I realized how little the red does! I then realized HOW MUCH it does when doing Angie ;)
