Hard Core

Back by popular demand, it’s core work.  A strong core is essential to safely and efficiently pull something off the ground, put something over your head, or maintain good posture while running and jumping.  Technically we are engaging the core in just about everything we do on a daily basis, but this week we are going to incorporate static holds and other movements specifically to improve core strength, and therefore capacity in functional movements.  We need core strength to help our skeletons support big lifts,041410-3154 so if you want your numbers to go up, the core is a great place to start.

April 26th 2010

Skill: Core work and static holds

Strength: Press 3-3-3-3-3

WOD: Complete 4 rounds for time of:
15 Dumbbell front squats (45#/30#)
10 Burpees

Parking is available all day Monday at CrossFit Fenway.  Beckett gets the ball as the Red Sox head north to Toronto to begin a week long, 6 game road trip.
